People living with psychosocial disability can face barriers when accessing and navigating the NDIS. Fig Tree Allied Health works exclusively with adults living with mental illness or psychosocial disability.
As an Advanced Occupational Therapist with Queensland Health specialising in NDIS funding applications and client advocacy, Jo offers extensive and knowledge and experience of the NDIS and its rapidly changing legislation. This equips Jo to offer high quality services to NDIS participants.
Application to Access the Scheme – Comprehensive assessment, accompanying report writing and completion of NDIS Access Request Form.
Functional Capacity Assessment - A functional capacity assessment is a review of a person’s functioning in the context of any mental health or psychosocial disabilities to identify what supports they may need to progress towards valued goals and maximise independence. For NDIS participants, Fig Tree Allied Health provide a comprehensive FCA report tailored to the client’s stage within the NDIS process, be it planning, review or appeal stages.
Home and Living Assessment - A Home and Living Assessment is a comprehensive review of a person’s functioning, support needs and associated housing requirements for NDIS funding purposes. Recommendations are made that best support a person’s long-term safety, independence and quality of life. This report can be tailored towards Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA) and/or Independent Living Option (ILO) packages.
**NB: All occupational therapists at Fig Tree Allied Health have extensive experience in assessment, report writing and advocacy, further complemented by their dual roles as advanced occupational therapists and NDIS staff specialists with the Metro North Health Service**
